Our
Gum Spirits of Turpentine
is derived from slash pine trees
(pinus eliottii),
growing in south Georgia, USA, using sustainable (
green
) forest practices.
Pinus eliottii
is the species often used as a benchmark by which others are judged
.
Our turpentine does not contain impurities found in industrial grades of turpentine.  Our unique method for harvesting pine gum, combined with our tried and true distillation process, ensures the
unmatched quality
of our product.
Click below to see a short video demonstrating how we harvest pine gum.  After the collection process is complete (the collection bag is full), the raw pine gum is then distilled, separating the turpentine from the rosin, also called colophony.  Both products are then packaged and ready for purchase.
See our listings for pine gum rosin (rock style), “pebble style” rosin, and powdered rosin.

as a thinner (diluent) for oil-based paints, varnishes, and mediums
to dissolve natural resins such as mastic, dammar, Venice turpentine, and Canada balsam
as a solvent for cleaning brushes and tools
as a fine furniture wax when mixed with beeswax or carnauba wax
in cleaning and sanitary products as an antiseptic/disinfectant
as a natural insecticide
to treat red bugs, also known as chiggers or harvest mites
in home remedies such as linaments, ointments, & medicated soaps
in fragrances
Turpentine is a flammable liquid, so please use caution when using turpentine.  Our turpentine is not intended for internal use.
Due to strict shipping regulations on flammable liquids, our 8 oz. bottles of turpentine are shipped either USPS Parcel Select, FedEx Smart Post or FedEx Ground.  Shipping cost is $8.00 per bottle.
Special shipping rules apply, and we comply with all regulations by shipping our turpentine ORM-D (Other Regulated Materials for Domestic Transport Only) via USPS, and obeying all regulations for shipping flammable liquids via FedEx.
16 oz. bottles of turpentine can be shipped to all 50 states; however, 16 oz. bottles take much longer to reach Alaska and Hawaii, as they must travel “Surface Mail Only.” If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, and you want to receive your turpentine faster, it is advisable to order it in 4 oz. bottles.
